Wayne Bryan, Producing Director
Wayne Bryan, Producing Director

Wayne recently enjoyed his 32nd season as Producing Artistic Director for Music Theatre Wichita. Raised in southern California, Wayne began his professional career as both actor and director at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, while stationed as a Navy officer in Coronado. Wayne has directed critically acclaimed productions all across the country, including Festival at New York City Center, Children of Eden at Musical Theatre West, Mary Poppins at the Walnut Street Theatre, A Christmas Story at Fulton Theatre, and multiple productions of Tintypes (winning Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award). His prolific directing output at MTWichita includes the U.S. premiere of Betty Blue Eyes and regional premieres of Mamma Mia!, HONK!, Catch Me If You Can, Big Fish, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Angela Cassette, Managing Director

Angela joined the Music Theatre Wichita staff as Development Director in 2013 and began her Managing Director role in 2019. Previously, she was Artistic Operations Director of The Florida Orchestra and General Manager of the Omaha Symphony. She loves working with donors and friends of MTWichita to create incredible art and educational opportunities for the Wichita community! Angela is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Arizona State University. She and her husband, trumpet player and WSU Professor David Hunsicker, have two sons, Noah & Luke. Email Angela.

Brian is very honored to join the MTW team. Music Theatre Wichita was Brian’s training ground as a member of the resident ensemble while in college at Oklahoma City University. Soon after, he moved to NYC and continued to work in regional theatres across the country as well as national tours. Eventually, Brian made is Broadway debut in the original cast of The Gershwins’ Fascinating Rhythm. Continuing his Broadway career, Brian performed in the original cast of Saturday Night Fever, the TONY award winning revival of 42nd Street and The Boy from Oz, starring Hugh Jackman.  Director/Choreographer Casey Nicholaw then asked Brian to be a replacement in the Broadway casts of Spamalot and The Drowsy Chaperone and later asked to be his Associate Choreographer for the Broadway debut of the holiday hit of ELF- The Musical. Brian performed multiple times for Radio City Music Hall, both in the Christmas show and the Spring Spectacular, as well as, the TONY Awards CBS telecast and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. For the past 10 years, Brian has been an educator, first as an Associate Professor in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University and most recently in the Drama Department at Syracuse University. He continues to direct and choreograph across the country but is happy to make home base Wichita with his wife Jennifer and their two children Sophie and Felix. Email Brian

Amanda Bowman, Development & Marketing Coordinator

Amanda joined the Music Theatre Wichita team full-time as Development & Marketing Coordinator in 2019. She started her career with MTWichita as an apprentice in 2005 has had many titles since then, most recent being Production Stage Manager. Amanda is a Wichita native and WSU alum. She has worked all over the country as a stage manager and is thrilled to be home.

Mary Sue Dymak, Rentals & Inventory Director

Born and raised in Nebraska. Graduated with a degree in Music Education. I started my career with Music Theatre Wichita back in the summer of 1976 as Assistant Property Master. Forty-four seasons later, I’ve made my way up into the wonderfully detailed position of Rentals and Inventory Director. It’s a challenging and very rewarding position. As warehouse manager, I oversee the storage space totaling over 60,000 square feet for our over 70 rental packages.  To be able to assist so many theatres; professional, non-professional, and educational either in making many of our items available for their use or giving them ideas on how to do it themselves is truly gratifying. Joshua Larson, Patron Services Director/Box Office Manager

Joshua currently serves as the Box Office Manager/Patron Services Director for MTWichita. He served as the assistant box office manager at Oklahoma City University School of Music Box office, as well as a ticketing associate for The Performing Arts Ticket Office through the School of Dance. In New York City Joshua worked for The Jujamcyn Theatres where he was a Broadway usher. Joshua is also a choreographer and director. His choreographic and directing talents have been used at MTWichita as the staging director for the Teen Choir (2006-present); director/choreographer of Festival of Broadway (2008-2010, 2014-present) and Curtain Up! (2013-present); and choreographer/adjudicator for the dance portion of MTWichita’s national audition tour (2013-present). He has choreographed for Wichita State University, Friends University, and at various high schools, studios, organizations, and theatres in and around the Wichita area. Joshua received his undergraduate degree in dance performance from Oklahoma City University and his Master of Liberal Arts (with a Theatre Concentration) from Baker University. Jacob Locke, Rentals Assistant

Jacob had the honor of becoming an official staff member in 2019, but has dutifully worked in the costume shop as a stitcher since 2015, and has been part of the rentals team since 2016. Jacob enjoys immaculately clean costumes that are impeccably constructed. A Wichita native, he is passionate about art in all its forms, and is proud to contribute to Wichita's vibrant arts scene. Nancy Reeves, Producing Associate/Company Manager
Nancy Reeves, Producing Associate/Company Manager

Nancy joined MTWichita in 1988 as a bookkeeper and soon took on other responsibilities. She first took over the position of Company Manager and more recently added Producing Associate to her job description. As Company Manager Nancy’s duties include coordinating auditions, handling thousands of submissions each season. Other duties include handling the travel and housing accommodation arrangements for guest artists, and maintaining active communications with all departments throughout the season. Nancy plans every detail of an annual holiday trip to New York for 50 MTWichita patrons. As Producing Associate Nancy attends auditions and participates in casting decisions, works with agents, and participates in contract negotiations. Her long tenure at MTWichita and close personal connections to people throughout Wichita allow her to be an outstanding resource for MTWichita and for artists working in Wichita during the summer season. Mitch Southerland, Director of Production
Mitch Southerland, Director of Production

Mitch is honored to be the Director of Production for Music Theatre Wichita. Mitch is an Oklahoma native, graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in scenic technology and has received accolades from the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) for excellence in technical direction and scenic technology. Professionally, Mitch has worked across the United States with companies such as Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, as well as The Santa Fe Opera. When not in the theatre, Mitch can usually be found outdoors, enjoying nature. He is enjoys traveling, usually on the back of a motorcycle, and is happy with any time spent on the water. Mitch is dedicated to making MTWichita the go-to summer program for aspiring young artists and technicians. Angela Trotter, Special Projects Director

Angela has been the Finance Assistant for MTWichita since January 2007. Her love of numbers began at the young age of 13 when she started helping with the books for her parent’s business. She went on to take any and all business classes through high school, graduated from vocational school with a certificate in Office Administration and has continued her business studies through WATC and other various online courses. She has worked for several non-profit organizations since she graduated. Four years ago Angela jumped at the opportunity to become Jester Program Director, and now carries the title as Special Programs Director (which combines all hats that she wears). Angela, and her husband Steve, relocated to Goddard in 2003. They have raised six boys and now enjoy the title of Nana and Papa. Email Angela.
