Apprentice Program

The Music Theatre Wichita Apprentice Program introduces interested high school students to the world of professional theatre. Apprentices work hand-in-hand with MTWichita professional staff in all aspects of theatrical production.

The Apprentice Program is based on blocks of two-week commitments for each specific show. The first week, apprentices work in one of our shops alongside professional staff. The second week, the are crew backstage. An apprentice may participate for one show, multiple shows, or the entire season.

To be a part of the summer Apprentice Program is to put in long hours doing creative work, and it has proven to be a very rewarding activity for young people who have a strong interest in the world of technical theatre. There is no other program in the country quite like it. MTWichita regularly receives feedback from former apprentices who credit their experiences with this organization with helping to develop skills, work habits, employment connections, and the focus that guarantees a successful transition into professional theatrical careers in addition to creating lifelong friendships and memories.

Apprentices must have completed their freshman year of high school to be eligible.

We are no longer accepting applications for 2020 Apprenticeships.
